With Josh’s natural language and privacy-focused voice automation technology, users can effortlessly control their AudioControl-powered entertainment systems. This integration offers a wide range of features, including auto-discovery of AudioControl products, power toggling, volume and mute control, input switching, single-source to multi-zone routing, and multi-source to multi-zone routing.
Our latest update has taken this already robust integration to new heights, boosting its speed by up to 10 times when switching media zones, setting volume output, and ducking audio. As a result, users can enjoy a superior experience across the board. These updates apply to AudioControl’s Director Series amplifiers, home theater Concert AV receivers, and Maestro preamp/processors, empowering integrators to craft the ultimate AV experience for their clients’ homes.

As always, the Josh platform enables users to search for content across all available streaming services (with compatible sources) and manage volume commands for individual or grouped output zones. This enables users with the freedom to enjoy their favorite programming anywhere within their home. For example, homeowners can simply say, “OK Josh, listen to the Beatles in the living, patio, and guest bedroom, and set the volume to 65 percent.”
AudioControl: VoiceLink & VoiceCast
AudioControl allows users to use VoiceLink and VoiceCast as part of their Josh ecosystem experience. These features provides clients with Josh’s responses broadcast through their home’s integrated speaker system. To receive feedback through AudioControl-powered systems home’s speakers using a Josh Micro, customers will need a Sonos Port to enable VoiceCast functionality.
When Josh Core is configured with AudioControl, any command uttered to a room’s Josh Nano or Josh Micro is relayed back to Josh Core. Subsequently, the AudioControl matrix switch is triggered by Josh Core to direct the voice feedback to the room where the command was issued.
In a scenario where three users simultaneously issue commands, two of the voice responses are routed from the Josh Core to their respective rooms using the AudioControl matrix switch. However, the third response is transmitted via the Sonos source using VoiceLink. This arrangement facilitates simultaneous voice feedback to multiple users, with two responses delivered through the AudioControl system and one response through the Sonos source using VoiceLink.
