What do you do at Josh? Software Engineer II, Android and Backend
Where are you from originally? Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Which office do you work in? Remote until we move to Denver in a few weeks.
What do you love about the smart home? I am fascinated by products that make life easier for others. Every day I look around and at some point think about how everything I use was invented by another person. Smart homes are the next big quality of life improvement people will become used to.
What are you most excited about over the next few years? I am excited to see how my work at Josh increases my skills as an engineer, and I am really looking forward to seeing my wife flourish in the medical field.
iPhone or Android? Different tools for different purposes. Though, I mainly use Apple products. Even though, I have been working inside of and building the Android OS for years now.
What do you do for fun? I hang out with my wife, watch movies, read, and go on adventures.
If you could go anywhere, where would it be? Probably to Galaxy’s Edge. As much as I love traveling to new places, I can’t help wanting to just stand in the front of the Millennium Falcon in awe.
Favorite restaurant in the world? Probably Cafe Kacao’s Guatemalan breakfast. I also love Lee’s Sandwiches, but nothing beats my wife’s cooking.
Favorite IoT / smart home product? The Josh Micro ;-)
What is your favorite feature of Josh? I think the ease of integration is the best feature so far. When a smart home isn’t easy, it doesn’t feel smart. Josh helps take care of that.
Favorite books / reading material / websites? Too many to count. The mainstream ones for sure though, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc. When it comes to older writers, I enjoyed stories like Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan and Princess of Mars.
