Josh.ai — Meet the Team: Jim Beaumont 🆕

Here’s a little about Jim in his own words:

“I entered the AV industry in 2005 when a good friend of mine, who owned a lighting design studio and a line voltage electrical company in Seattle, he asked if I wanted to consult with a client on the security for his estate in London. At that time, I was a detective with the King County Sheriff’s Office. I was hired for the project and shortly afterward retired from the Sheriff’s Office to start an AV division for my friend’s company.

In 2009, I bought the AV part of the company and rebranded it as HomeTech Europe. I expanded into three US states, four European countries, and the UAE. In 2022, I went to work for Lutron. The opportunity at Josh came along, and I wanted to be part of a young, exciting team that has limitless growth potential.”

What do you do at Josh?: Territory Sales Manager-East

Where are you from originally?: I am from Woodinville, Washington, but have lived overseas for 15 years in London, Dubai, and the Bahamas.

Favorite smart home product other than Josh?: Ketra Lighting

What do you love about the smart home?: The ability to tailor the space to the way I live, creating easy-to-use scenes without multiple inputs.

What is your favorite feature of Josh?: Natural language Scene Creation

What do you do for fun?: I collect and restore classic cars and have raced on several tracks across the UK. I have been a pilot since I was 19 years old and have flown many types of aircraft over the years.

Favorite restaurant in the world?: Le Garde Robe, Paris France

Favorite place to travel?: Venice, Italy I go every September

Favorite books?: Anything by Clive Cussler and his co-authors.
