What do you do at Josh? As a backend software engineer at Josh, I help write the code that brings Josh to life! I help to write device drivers that help Josh integrate with more products and improve core functionality.
Where are you from originally? Boston, MA
What do you love about the smart home? The potential to increase the accessibility and comfort of our spaces, and of course the technical challenges of making it all work.
What are you most excited about over the next few years? I’m excited to contribute towards how automation technology can help shape our lives and society for the better.
iPhone or Android? I think it’s a good idea to be proficient in both.
What do you do for fun? I enjoy playing guitar and singing in my band, as well as watching other local bands. Denver has a vibrant local music scene!
If you could go anywhere, where would it be? I love to visit Golden Gate Canyon state park, especially as the leaves are changing.
Favorite restaurant in the world? Anywhere I can get a nice warm bowl of ramen (with extra egg).
Favorite IoT / smart home product? Color changing lighting is a really fun way to transform the mood of a space at a moment’s notice.
What is your favorite feature of Josh? Natural language processing makes for such a simple and elegant user interface, and it’s also a fascinating problem space from a technical perspective.
Favorite books / reading material / websites? My classic picks are Sherlock Holmes, Pride and Prejudice, and Lord of the Rings + Hobbit.
